Great Sites
The Great American Irish Festival in Herkimer County Fairgrounds - Frankfort, New York
The Best Irish Festival West of Ireland!!! But you don't have to take my word for it...Check it out!!!!!
Traonach
Without a doubt this is the best Traditional Irish group in the region!! I really can not say enough about these guys. Inspirational in som many ways to me....and great musicians too!!! ;^)
From their Home Page:
"Traonach is a traditional Irish dance band that grew out of the lively and long-standing Ithaca Irish music scene. Years of playing together have created a tight, driving sound that has moved audiences at festivals, concert halls and other events throughout the northeastern United States. Dirty Linen magazine says they have "A deep knowledge and love of the music and a palpable zest for playing."
With Mark Bickford, Joel Cowan, Harry Lawless, Ed McGowan and Scott Whitham playing fiddle, whistle, concertina, accordion, banjo, bouzouki and bodhran"
Mike and Mary Rafferty
Although both great musicians....The reason I added this site is because of all the great infor regarding the Comhaltas that they update monthly...they also organize the Mid Atlantic Fleadh so there is updated info as well.
The Session Web Site
This is the best place to find session tunes on the web, hands down, become a member (its free) and you can join in the discussions, ask traditional music related questions including but not limited to, instrument technique, history of tunes, or look up your favorite recordings and download the midi and sheet music files....I use this site more than any other on the net...really!

Cool site! This page has links to favorite artists as well as Video clips and sound files of folks like Luke Kelly, Christy Moore, Shane McGowan the Dubliners and more!
West O' Clare
"The Balladeer of the Southern Tier." Westoclare.com is the home page of one of my favorite gentlemen in the business Pat Kane. Pat has had his solo act on the road for more than 25 years (although we all know he's been playing for longer than that) Pat and his band have a very unique show and sound that is distinctly West o' Clare with Pat's own personal flare. Pat and his nephew Brian Kane currently are one of the hardest working acts on the road through out the northeast, and somehow they manage to produce a weekly radio show as well! you must check out my friends Pat and Brian Kane!!! (Check out West O' Clare member Bryan Hyland's link on Pat's links)
